Message

The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. The prize that shows I have God's approval is now waiting for me. The Lord, who is a fair judge, will give me that prize on that day. He will give it not only to me but also to everyone who is eagerly waiting for him to come again.

-2 Timothy 4:6-8

1. I must the good .

We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

-Ephesians 6:12

Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

-Hebrews 11:1-3

2. I must the .

While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world.

-John 16:33

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

-Psalm 91:1-2

3. I must the .

The Lord can be trusted to make you strong and protect you from harm.

-2 Thessalonians 3:3
