Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

-1 Peter 1:15-16

Holiness is first  before it’s .

And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do, so conduct yourself in reverent fear during your time of exile. For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

-1 Peter 1:17-19

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then, but you are no longer ignorant to such things.

-1 Peter 1:13-14

Simon Peter answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

-Luke 5:5

My past  don’t determine my future .

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

-1 Peter 2:1

You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. And now you are living stones being used to build a spiritual house. You are also a group of holy priests, and with the help of Jesus Christ you will offer sacrifices that please God.

-1 Peter 2:4-5

You are followers of the Lord, and this stone is precious to you. But it isn't precious to those who refuse to follow him. They are the builders who tossed aside the stone that turned out to be the most important one of all. “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”

-1 Peter 2:7-10
