This Week’s Experience – 7/24/2022

Message

Desire without knowledge is not good, and one who moves too hurriedly misses the way.

A Samaritan women came to the well to draw out water. Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.  The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”

 -John 4:7-9

3. I must people the way Jesus does.

Jairus, the ruler of local synagogue approached Jesus and fell at his feet fervently pleading, “My little daughter is about to die, she won’t make it through the rest of the day, please come touch her so she will get well and live”.

-Mark 5:22-23

Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?” His disciples said to him, "Look at all these people crowding around you! How can you ask who touched you?"

-Mark 5:30-31

While Jesus was still speaking, some messengers came from Jairus home and told him, “Your daughter has died! Why trouble this Rabbi anymore?”

-Mark 5:35

Jesus took the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and went in to see the child. Taking her by the hand, Jesus said, “Talitha koum!” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around.

-Mark 5:40-42

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
