Emmanuel: with

“She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this happened in order to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet, "A virgin will have a baby boy, and he will be called Emmanuel," which means "God is with us."

-Matthew 1:21-23

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…and the Word became flesh and lives amongst us.

-John 1:1, 14

1. God is me!

The angel came to Mary and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

-Luke 1:28

The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share this same comfort with others in trouble.

-2 Corinthians 1:3-4

2. God with me!

But the LORD was with Joseph.

-Genesis 39:21

3. God with me!

Can anything separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble, suffering, and hard times, or hunger and nakedness, or danger and death?... No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

-Romans 8:35, 37-39
