This Week’s Experience – 10/10/2021

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak…

-James 1:19a

and slow to become angry…

-James 1:19b

because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

-James 1:20

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

-John 13:34

Therefore, get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.

-James 1:21

Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

-James 1:22

1. Briefly describe a time where your mouth got you into trouble.
2. Gilbert talked about how you can be so “right” that you right someone right out the door. Have you lost any relationships because you were so determined to be right that it cost you?
3. James gives so much wisdom in these few verses. What stood out to you most as something you need to work on?
4. With who or in what situation do you need to do better asking questions? Brainstorm with the group what questions would be wise to ask so that you can are seen as being genuinely curious to learn more.
