One of the Pharisees, an expert in the law, tested Him with a question: “Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in the Law?” Jesus answered: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and most important commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All of the Law and the Prophets can be summed up in these two commands”

-Matthew 22:35-40

1. What are some theories you’ve had in life that later turned out to not be true?

2. In what way(s) have you discovered that loving other people can sometimes be messy?

3. What are the names of the people you need to be more intentional about jumping into the mess with? In your family? Amongst your friends? In your neighborhood? At your workplace? At the places where you “play” (hobbies, fun activities)? In everyday encounters (bank teller, grocery store clerk, etc)?
