Message notes

1. My greatest need becomes a when it causes me to on God.

The king of Israel set out with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. They took an indirect route [to Moab]. After seven days they ran out of water for the army and the animals. “What should we do?” the king of Israel cried out. “Has the LORD brought the three of us here to let the king of Moab defeat us?”

King Jehoshaphat of Judah replied, “Is there a prophet of the
LORD with us? If there is, we can ask the LORD what to do
through him.” One of the king of Israel’s officers replied, “Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.”

Jehoshaphat king of Israel said, “Yes, the LORD speaks through him”. So Jehoshaphat along with the king of Judah and the king of Edom all went off to speak with him. Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What business do you have with me? Go to the prophets of your [wicked] father [Ahab] and to the prophets of your [pagan] mother [Jezebel].” But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the LORD has called these three kings together to be handed over to Moab.”

Elisha answered, "By the living LORD, whom I serve, I swear that I would have nothing to do with you if I didn't respect your ally, King Jehoshaphat of Judah. Now bring me someone who can play the harp."

While the harp was being played, the power of the LORD came upon Elisha, and he said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Dig this valley full of ditches.’” If you’ll do this, even though you won’t see neither wind nor rain, the LORD will fill these ditches with water so that you, your troops and your animals will all have enough to drink. And that simple thing is not all the LORD is going to do. He will also help you defeat Moab’s army.
