Message notes

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

-Psalm 46:10

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

-Hebrews 12:11

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 1. Why am I discontent with what I am currently doing?  What's my real motive behind the fault finding, complaining, or job hopping I am doing?

2. Have I become an expert, or at least devoted myself to constantly improving what I do now?  

3. Do I trust that God knows what's next for me, and is using my current role as a training ground?  

4. Am I willing to finish this part of the journey, before trying to escape into what I feel I am owed?  Why do I feel like I am owed anything?  

5. What attitude will it take for me to devote myself to be the best at what I am doing?  

6. What is my next step as a result of this message?
