  • I have sinned (Romans 3:23)
  • Sin separates me from God (Isaiah 59:2)
  • Heaven is a sinless/perfect place (Revelation 21:27)
  • Believing in Jesus is the key (John 3:16)
  • Jesus takes away my sin (2 Corinthians 5:21)
  • Jesus gives heaven as a free gift (Romans 6:23)
  • I must confess my sin and believe (Romans 10:9-10)

3. God wants me to know about and what happens to me!

4.  God wants me to know what I will in heaven!

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away… I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband …And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.”

-Revelation 21:1-3

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

-Revelation 6:9-11

What is Present Day Heaven Like:

  • A physical place occupied by people of faith
  • A place where I will have my same identity
  • I may have temporary physical forms

What Will Our Resurrected Permanent Bodies Be Like:

  • “Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthly bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole.” (Philippians 3:20-21)
  • “. . . (we will be) conformed to the likeness of his Son” (Romans 8:29)
  • “we shall be like him” (1 John 3:2)
  • Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.” (1 Corinthians 15:49)

What Is Present Day Heaven Like:

  • We will be fully conscious and aware of each other and things on earth – including praying for others here
  • We will ask God questions – be in His presence and continue to learn
  • We will see how God knows everything down to the last detail . . . and how He loves us!

Now we see but a poor reflection in a mirror, then we shall see face to face.  Now I know (Him) in part; then I shall know (Him) fully, even as I am fully known.”

- 1 Corinthians 13:12
