Message notes

1. I must live so that people ask me questions about my life and beliefs.

Agrippa said, “I’d like to see this man and hear his story.” “Good,” said Festus. “We’ll bring him in first thing in the morning and you’ll hear it for yourself.”

-Acts 25:22

Dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord, and if anybody asks why you believe as you do, be ready to tell them, and do it in a gentle and respectful way.

-1 Peter 3:15

2. I must seize .

Then Paul said to Agrippa, “Do you believe what the prophets said? I know you do.” Agrippa asked Paul, “In such a short time do you think you can talk me into being a Christian?” Paul answered, “Whether it takes a short time or a long time, I wish you and everyone else who hears me today would become just like me! Except, of course, for these chains.”

-Acts 26:27-29

3. I must trust that God is at all times and in all ways.

No one had eaten for a long time. Finally, Paul called the crew together and said, “Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss.  But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said.  But we will be shipwrecked on an island.”

-Acts 27:21-26

4.I must live as a no matter where and no matter what.

For two years Paul was locked up in a rented house and welcomed everyone who came to see him. He bravely preached about God’s kingdom and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one tried to stop him.

-Acts 28:30-31

Nothing is as wonderful as knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count everything else as garbage. All I want is Christ and to know that I belong to him. I could not make myself acceptable to God by obeying the Law of Moses. God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ. All I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want to suffer and die as he did, so that somehow I also may be raised to life.

-Philippians 3:8-11
