Message notes

That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord!

 -John 20:19-20

One of the disciples, Thomas, “The Twin,” was not there at the time with the others. The other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But Thomas replied, “Unless I see the wounds from the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds from the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe it!”

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger into my hands. Put your hand into my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” Thomas replied, “You are my Lord and my God!”

Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.”

-John 20:24-29

Jesus worked many other miracles for his disciples, and not all of them are written in this book.  But these are written so that you will put your faith in Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God. If you have faith in him, you will have true life.

-John 20:30-31

1. I must be with the I have .

Some things are hidden. They belong to the Lord our God. But the things that have been revealed in these teachings belong to us and to our children forever. We must obey every word of these teachings.

-Deuteronomy 29:29

2. Jesus answer to my doubts is not an ; it’s a .

I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is: Jesus the Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and three days later he was raised to life. Christ appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After this, he appeared to more than five hundred other followers. Most of them are still alive, but some have died. He also appeared to James, and then to all of the apostles. Finally, he appeared to me.

-1 Corinthians 15:3-8

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.

-Hebrews 11:1
